Hello lovelies! Today’s post is going to be slightly different than usual but I’ve recently decided I need to expand my blog every now & then. As I’m sure you can read from the title, today we’re discussing bedtime beauty and how I like to prepare myself for a good night of sleep.
If you’re anything like me, you absolutely love your sleep. I’ve always been a night owl and probably always will be and to be honest I don’t even require a lot of sleep most of the time. College life, amiright? However, there are days when I know I need to be refreshed and have a long day ahead of me so I need a good quality sleep the night before.
I don’t do anything extravagant for my bedtime beauty routine, but I figured it would be worth a share for you guys in case you were curious or are looking for something new to add to your routine. I personally love to shower at night, it relaxes me and gets me ready for bed. If I have washed my hair I like to add this Healthy Sexy Hair Leave-In Conditioner to my hair to tame the frizz, because yes my hair does get frizzy, and it smells so good. I also like to get my skin prepared for the next day by popping on a face mask. I’ve been using this L’Oreal Pure Clay Mask to detox and brighten and I really like it. My skin feels so soft afterwards and I like being able to see all the gunk the charcoal pulls out, yuck!
Once I’m done with my skin and hair care, I like to make myself some Sleepytime tea. I’m not 100% sure whether or not this actually makes me sleepy, however a warm tea before bed does help me relax even more. I also have a glass of water beside my bed every night, I drink some before bed and leave some in case I wake up in the middle of the night and need some. One thing I’ve been doing this year is writing in a journal before bed, this really helps me get out any thoughts I’m thinking about, ideas I have, or even just talking about my day.
Finally, the last thing I have to say is another factor in a good quality sleep is 100% your mattress. When I moved into my apartment, I knew I wanted a memory foam mattress. On my vacation this past weekend I slept on a spring mattress and it was so uncomfortable. Granted, I can sleep in any situation I’m handed, I would have had a much better sleep if I was with my memory foam mattress. If you’re in the business for a new mattress, definitely check out Leesa mattresses. It’s designed with 3 layers, 1 is the Cooling Avena Foam layer which makes for a cooler nights sleep, perfect for anyone who gets hot and/or sweats during the night. The second layer is the pressure relieving memory foam. It contours to your body and has pressure relief like you want in a memory foam mattress. Finally, layer 3 is the dense core support. This is there to support any and everyone while they sleep, without being right on top and being too firm.
I hope you guys enjoyed this little peek into my bedtime beauty and how I achieve a good quality nights sleep. If you have any tips or tricks of your own, feel free to leave them in the comments or shoot me an email and we can talk!
Peace out, girl scout!
